This crochet pattern is for a temperature blanket, with different colours representing the minimum and maximum daily temperatures for a year. The days are worked in rows using a technique similar to the mosaic crochet style so you end up with a series of lines and stripes, and a double-thickness blanket.
Hobbii 8/6 Rainbow Cotton was used to make the blanket you see in the photos, but you can use any yarn brand and yarn weight. Although the amount of yarn used may vary depending on the number of foundation chain you choose to begin with, a base foundation chain length of 323 will require 4100 grams (143.5 ounces) or 8610 metres (9430 yards) of yarn. The quantities for each colour varies depending on your local weather.
Included in the files are the written pattern in US, or UK terminology, and optional colour charts for either 50, 40, 30, 25, 20, or 10 colours for you to choose from, as well as a table for each month which can be used to track your daily temperatures.

Hi and welcome to Crochet Hook Cottage!
I'm Jodie, the yarn witch who works the design magic here at Crochet Hook Cottage in Perth, Western Australia. Crocheting is my passion, I was taught how to crochet in 1979 by my Nana, and have been hooking away ever since! I began Crochet Hook Cottage in 2019, after losing my job due to health complications as a result of breast cancer treatments. I needed some way to bring in some extra money to pay for food, bills and the mortgage, so when a friend told me I should try selling the items I crocheted the business was born and I opened an Etsy shop. I began designing my own crochet patterns that same year, and there are many more of those to come.
I love designing patterns that have a picture, mainly mosaic, and tapestry crochet, and I hope you love my patterns too!
